The students were told that they would be starting a unit on Conservation of Energy, and they were encouraged to explore what they already knew about the topic. Two students, Greg and Mara, really impressed me with what they submitted before we even officially began instruction on the unit. They developed a podcast and a digital story to demonstrate their previous knowledge of the subject! This was one of those moments when something special happens in class and you have to acknowledge the creativity of the students. Imagine what the students will accomplish once they actually begin to explore this topic in detail. I can’t wait!

Hello, I am Hannah and I go to Winston Churchill p.s. I found that your video was simple, and had a message that for a younger audience was broadly expressed. I think however certain content like the lightning pages and pig pages seemed to differ from the direct main message.Watch our videos to get an idea of what I am talking about.. Here is a link below to watch: http://winstonchurchill.limestone.on.ca/, and go to class websites, Mr. Candela’s class, student works, then digital commercials.
I think if you used the same idea in another commercial, you would do way better. Anyhow, good effort.

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I’m from Winston!
Your topic for your podcast was great and I like your images, but I think that you might have to be more clear on the point that you’re trying to get at. I’m not trying to be offensive though, I just think that your digital story is intended for younger audiences. I’m also wondering about “This little piggy is confused.”I’m not really sure what that means.
Anyways, here’s a link to our site so you can view some of our photostory digital stories : http://winstonchurchill.limestone.on.ca/candela/commercials/commercials.htm
Now again, your idea is nice, but just be more careful and maybe do a bit more revising if your digital story is for older audiences, because I don’t know what audiences your photostory is for. Great ideas overall!

    Dear Mr. Poluk’s Class,
I watched Digital Video 3 and I think it good was for a start. You had the right idea. but really, you have to be more serious and treat us like we are in grade 6. You don’t say, “This a shiny light is on” or “This piggy is confused.” This would be good if it was an audience of little kids who don’t have a clue about the LUTWF. But you have to be more serious to an older audience.

Keep up the hard work, huangja

Hello my name is Reg and I go to Winston Churchill public school.
I find that this clip is very interesting and well made. But I find that the Puppy dog and the lightning dont have alot to do with the topic, eventhough the dog showes static electricity.
